Edit: Art teacher suggested that I mess with some filters to make it less dark, and it ended up making it look a bit better
He also suggested that I add something on the left side of the image like a ladybug on the log, but I do not have the energy to work on this any more than I already have XD filters will have to do
Though I did realized I missed an opportunity to add some fireflies, smh

Ok this morning I feel a little better about it but I still feel like something's missing XD

As you can see I've been working on it for a while now and I came to the realization tonight(/this morning hehe) that I'm really tired of staring at it, and I could be doing other things with my time
It started out as background practice, but then I decided to go all out and make a new banner at the same time
It looks finished from afar, but a closer look shows a bunch of things that I could fix or change and I just don't have the willpower to after working on it for so long

I'm really split because I'm incredibly happy with how Humphrey and Fiery turned out (for the most part), but my goal was to paint a background, not my characters, and maybe it's because it's 3 AM and I'm out of it but I'm just not all that happy with how the background turned out. The shading is throwing it all off for me. I added shadows from the trees because it looked a lot weirder without, but I feel like I could've done them better
Jdjdakjdhsj there's just a lot that I wish I'd done better here and my brain won't let it go XD
Maybe tomorrow I'll think differently

If someone who works with very few layers looked at how many I used here I think they'd have a heart attack

Also because pixels hate art made with dark colors it looks messy in certain places :')
