And yeah, once there were too many Pokemon to collect in one game, and some you can't even get ever, then it lost some of the Gotta Catch 'Em All!™ charm.

I totally traded with someone to get a gengar, golem and machoke. Finding someone else who had the game felt like more of an achievement than actually catching the pokemon!
Also, the methods for catching some of the pokemon are so rediculous and abstract, there's no WAY you could figure it out on your own.
