All the usual jokes have been done, so I'll be serious.
The black really works; the flesh tone will work for a pure cartoon treatment. If you keep this and work with a copy, you could use a darker flesh tone in the shadows to give it a cell shaded appearance.

If you had more time it might benefit from some shading at the edges, would make it look a little more 3-dimensional. And I might recommend a little more towards orange in the skin tone but that depends on what ethnicity she should be or how pale/tanned, I just feel like your 3d version of her is a bit darker skinned. But maybe she should be quite pale

Some very good points. Shading/coloring is hard. I try to do as little as possible to not screw up the original drawing too much. Next time I try making the skin a bit darker.

That's a good idea for a heroine, then you can make sure that if you do get knocked out at least it's with a quality brand and a nice fluffy luxurious cloth instead of a cheap rag or whatever. Good thinking.
