Fiji-Fujii — Wet Skin - Practice

Description And again, I'm doing sh*t instead of the remaining Art Trades, lol.

As the title says, these two pictures were a practice to paint wet skin in Photoshop CS4.
(Poor Odhran and poor Blue have to sweat for me once again. )

Odhran looks kinda different, by the way. Probably because his hair is down...
Anyway, his skin turned out to look way better than Blue's. Still gotta practice a lot when it comes to these things...

And just in case you're wondering what's in the background of them two - Odhran finds himself in a desert and Blue is located in the Yautja's workshop. (Thus the spraying sparks, I hope it even looks like such.)

This is all sorts of delicious sexy ♥ Love how Blue's shirt is all see through *perv* I do love how you highlighted Odhran's cheekbones, by the way, I don't see a lot of artists doing that, so seeing this sort of makes the little realism artist in me go squee ♥

Das hast du schön hingekriegt. Ich finde nur, dass die Schweißtropfen ein bisschen zu sehr glänzen, aber ansonsten sieht es echt gut aus.

Danke. Ja, sie sind auch allgemein zu groß und zu auffällig. Das muss ich beim nächsten Mal irgendwie anders machen. Außerdem ist mir aufgefallen, dass Blues rechter (auf dem Bild linker) Arm und die Hand viel zu klein sind im Verhältnis zum Rest des Körpers.


Ja, eh. Wenn sie das hier sehen würde, dann würde sie mich auslachen und ich hätte wieder Grund zum weinen.

Also ich finde sonst ist es eh gelungen. Wasser auf de Haut zu zeichnen, ist aber wirklich nicht einfach. Hast du mit Vorlage gearbeitet?

Sie würde dich doch nicht auslachen, sie ist doch sooooOOOOoooo ein guUUUuuuuuter Mensch.

Nein, ich hab' ganz ohne Vorlage gearbeitet, was vermutlich der Grund dafür ist, dass es nicht so aussieht, wie ich's mir vorgestellt hab'. Nächstes Mal muss ich schauen, dass ich Fotos oder so runterspeichere.

Ah ja, stimmt. So herzensgut, ein richtiges Engerl. Ich wär' ja so gern wie sie.

Ja, aber dafür ist es schon ganz gut geworden. Mit Vorlage sieht man halt manches besser. Du konntest wirklich einfach aus dem inet einpaar Photos von nassen Menschen als Vorlage abspeichern.

P.S.: Fail-Typ ist jetzt meine neue Webcam und Ilei musste ur lachen als sie ihn gesehen hat.

Echt? Hat er ihr so gut gefallen? Ich muss das Bild, das ich wollte, erst wiederfinden. Das Forum hat sonst auch sehr interessante Themen, ich arbeite mich derzeit immer wieder durch Verschiedenes.
Aber im Moment habe ich auch ein ur tolles Ersatzbild gefunden. Ein Portrait von meiner Familie. (Du hast ja mal gesagt, ich bin dieser Affe. Das ist ja eine Pavian-Unterart, glaube ich, und sie heißen "Gelada".)

Sie hat gedacht, dass der arme Kerl blind ist und sich die ganze Zeit gefragt, wer zur Hölle das sein soll.

Genau, weil sie so hell sind. Armer Fail-Typ! Er kann ja nun wirklich nichts dafür. Das stimmt, ich würd' mich wahrscheinlich auch ur wundern, wenn du oder Ilei plötzlich so eine Webcam hättet.

Bestimmt. Als ich den Aki gefragt habe, was mit Fail-Typ nicht stimmt, hat er auch nicht gesehen, dass er tot ist. MadKitty hab' ich's auch gezeigt und sie hat's auch zuerst nicht erkannt. Er könnte wirklich einfach nur ein ziemlich nach Fail aussehender Typ sein, deswegen kommt's einem so komisch vor.
Aber Fail-Typ ist unser Held. Eigentlich sollten wir ihm einen plz-Account schenken.

Ein plz-account wäre super! Ich würde den dauernd verwenden. (Armer Fail-Typ. Der Photograph, der das verbrochen hat, dachte wahrscheinlich, dass dieses Bild einfach in irgendeinem Familienalbum verschwinden wird. Er hat sicher nicht damit gerechnet, dass es sich seinen Weg durch Inet bahnt. )
Ehrlich, ich wäre auch nie draufgekommen, wenn ich es nicht wüsste. Man erwartet sowas einfach nicht.

This looks really incredible.Those sparks did come off really well by the way. I love how Blue is just looking like "I've got to get the heck out of here before I melt." His shirt is soaked through by the looks of it.

Well, at least you do SOME backgrounds. I, for example, can't do any
But right now I don't have to worry about it - I have to study human anatomy and so on XD
And don't worry, you'll learn how to draw cool backgrounds pretty soon, I'm sure of it

I usually just use stock pictures for backgrounds and put filters over them to have them match my style better but I really have to learn how to draw/paint them myself sometime if I wanna make money with my art. :/
So, as always, it means practice, practice, and practice again. X.x I really hope I can improve.

Hmmm, you're right. Making your own backgrounds would only be a big PLUS, a what I've got to say - it definitely makes you way better artist

hmmm since it's practice I try to find things to improve. Maybe the hair still needs a wet look. Though that'll be tricky in your current style, it would resort to sticking to the skin a lot. Which might already be the case if I see it correctly?

Yeah, you can actually see it better on the left picture. The hair have more of a wet look there than on the right picture. I think, overall the left one turned out better than the right one but of course, it's still not perfect.
Also, the sweatdrops are way too big and shiny. I need to reduce them a little.
(Plus, I see some anatomical mistakes as well; Blue's left [actually right] arm and hand are too small.)
Gotta need to practice moar. D:

Blue's right arm? Didn't even notice! I've looked at some wet skin here on dA and do have to agree the left one comes closest to photographed wet skin.
