Description Arsène Rémond (1882-1935)

He weighed in excess of 100 kilos (220 pounds) while serving in the French Army during the Great War (1914-1918). His unit suffered horrific casualties, no doubt leaving him with PTSD and triggering progressive weight gain post-war. By 1925 he weighed 169 kilos (372 pounds). A friend asked him to make an appearance for charity and thus began his path to fame as the heaviest Frenchman ever, eventually reaching 315 kilos (694 pounds).
