The visored bascinet seems to have a metal piece in the middle of the eyeslit, which seems to be part of the bascinet and not the visor. My guess is that this seems to be from using a visored barbute as visual reference instead of a bascinet
Visored barbutes are a bit of an oxymoron, they were created by modern collectors combining parts from different armor systems, not by armorers. Barbutes have built-in noseguards and cheekguards because they are not intended to work with a visor.Β www.youtube.com/watch?v=gb1csnβ¦
The visor makes those parts redundant at best, and an unnecessary hindrance at worst. Visored helmets are intended to offer maximum protection against projectiles when the visor is down, but to also have optimal visibility and breathing airflow for melee when the visor is up. A visored barbute would have all of the drawbacks, but only some of the advantages, which is why they did not exist. It would also be heavier than a visored bascinet.
The rest of the armor seems excellent. My only doubt would be the length of the breastplate, but it doesn't seem to really be too long. It's hard to tell from just one angle and without full body height. As long as the breastplate does not extend below the wearer's natural waist, it wouldn't restrict movement.
