What is the girl on the far left trying to portray?

on the left, she's been abusing drugs for a while. The idea was that she was making a choice, "Do I want to go to that party tonight with that girl I met? Do I want to experiment with drugs? Should I start seeing that guy, even though he's probably a bad influence?" That sort of thing.
