Nice! I'll have to go through these!Β
I'm glad to see you have some heavier breeds in here, BTW. I've got a few stories where the hero's horse is a larger breed, and one where the forest guardian is based off a draft. But it's not easy to find references for those, so I've had a lot of trouble drawing them.Β

Hi there,
I do try and get as many different breeds as I can - Although Arabians are by far the easiest. This horse, Tolly, is actually owned by a friend so there is always the opportunity for me to get more photos of her.

Arabians are very popular for fantasy worlds, and I'm not surprised: they're gorgeous, and their light, slender bodies make for great unicorn and pegasi models.Β
Part of the reason I'm going with a heavier breed for these two stories was 1: practicality. The horse's owner is around seven feet tall, so he needed a big horse to carry him. 2: Intimidation. The forest spirit first appears as a hostile entity, angry about being summoned like some tame creature, so he needed to be big, powerful, and terrifying. The shots I put in my favorites today were chosen because of how well they'd work for both creatures.
