Very good. Very good indeed. Looks fantastic. The only criticism I would have is that a few of the islands are too flat, and would not float in that manner. They would most likely flip vertical like the longer ones you have. However, this is advanced physics, and that is Art. Very good art.

It's simple, really. And doesn't involve numbers at all. 'cause I'm terrible at maths too. Think of a hot air balloon. All the balloon is at the top, and below is the basket. The thing keeping it afloat is on top, and gravity causes the bottom bit to point towards the ground. It's the same with Pandora's floating mountains, except this time, it's Unobtanium that is supporting it, by surfing on the high power magnetic fields. And so, unless under the extremely unlikely event that a flat island is equally weighted all around a cenral core of Unobtainium, then all other islands would flip so the unobtanium is at the top and the rest hangs below.
As I say, simple. And this doesn't make your art wrong. It's art. There is no such thing, within legal bounds, as wrong art.
So no worries mate.

So much science goes into the Universe, and by using such techniques, you can make outlandish things like floating mountains look like they SHOULD work, and therefore make it easier for people to belive in the world created in the art or literature.

I'm lucky, I've got a mind that does that with fantasy and sci-fi. Sometimes I read books, or watch movies, and I think "Sure, great ideas, but you haven't eaten ANYTHING for the last FIVE DAYS! Realism in fantasy and Sci-Fi doesn't have to be gritty. Just adding in that people do eat, sleep, go to the shops to get some baked beans and so on.
That's one of the criticisms of Avatar. Though I loved the world and the concepts in it, Jake ate one piece of fruit in his avatar form, and half a plate of pasta and a burger in his human form. Through the course of what was clearly several months. At least they showed that such activity would be very tiring, and he was losing weight as a human and gaining muscle as an avatar through the course of the movie. Some movies have less than that! Because, apparently, Jason Bourne can not only survive being shot to pieces, but also not eating a morsel of food or sleeping for years at a time.

Yeah well there are people who never wonder why chocolate in the Harry Potter novels is never fating, in fact it's good for you. But there you are, fantasy and imagination pushing the boundaries of the "willing suspension of disbelief".
