i'm not sure what master sword keyblade you're talking about unless you mean master xehanort's or a fan art keyblade.
i always use poplar since it's sturdier than pine, yet just as light and easy to carve, it also has a very fine grain so there aren't more and less dense areas of wood. that means you wont accidentally carve a chunk out as often.
If I have a larger keyblade like this one, I'll use pine because it's cheaper and comes in wider varieties than poplar.

If that's longer than 42 inches i'd make it from something light like pine. Of course, if it's not going to be used for cosplay much, you could layer poplar and it might turn out a little better

If this scroll saw blade doesnt snap then i'll be able to finish cutting it out tomorrow. I was thinking, it looks a bit thin at 3/4". There arent really any reference pics and the game doesnt feature it too much. If i keep it 3/4", the i have 3/8" to work with for each side. I just wanna know if you want me to make it a little thicker or not. Please dont say its up to me, cause this will be the first ever recreation of it and i want it to look good

Like twice as thick? Or just a little bit thicker. I could make just certain parts thicker like the beast head on the top or the handle. And also, do you think the middle section is flat like a blade or rounded? If its flat i can keep it 3/4"

i think its a bit rounded. not too much, but also not entirely flat if you know what i mean. whatever makes it easier on you is fine lol because its already a pretty complicated keyblade. as for thickness probably just a lil bit thicker

Okay, i think we're on the same page with the blade then. And for the thickness, i think i'll make the beast head and the hilt of the handle(area with the eye and wings and clock) a bit thicker so the weight doesnt snap the top off, because the main blade is already the right thickness.
