Β Β Β Before Rictort joined the travelling circus he was a soldier of the Rithorian army. The tiger wielded a heavy spiked mace and sturdy one arm shield. His servitude in the army spanned 7 long years. His performance on the battlefield provided him many offers for an increase in rank, but Rictort always declined, believing that heβd do more good on the front line protecting his fellow men, than if he was ordering from behind. It wasnβt until the end of his 7th year, battling with a Torgan tribe, that Rictort had a change of heart.Β
Β Β After an attack on a travelling caravan near the boarder of Torga, Denwin Village was swiftly raided. Half of the houses were pillaged and a few civilians were took in the raid. Rictort was sent out in a battalion of 500 soldiers from Combrift. The battalion tracked the raid back to a Torgan camp consisting of large Rhinos. The soldiers beside Rictort quietly exclaimed on how easy thisβll be as none of the Torgans were armed with any swords or blunt instruments. When day turned to night the battalion struck. As every soldier charged into the camp all cocky remarks were dashed when the Rhinos lowered their head and charged with reckless abandon. Soldiers were tossed around like rag dolls. Every cut they made with their blade was shallow on the tough and meaty Rhino skin. Trying to find duty in the chaos, Rictort watched as a Rhino charged at a fellow soldier. The tiger dashed towards the beast and struck its lower jaw with his mace. The rhino stumbled back before lunging towards Rictort, ignoring the following bash to its head, and making a large slice to the chest of the Tiger with its horn. Rictort had collected many wounds in his service, but none of them had ever cut so deep and knocked the wind out of him like this one had. As the tiger lay in the ground with only his shield, none of his fellow soldiers came to his aid. Everyone merely backed away, beginning to retreat, doing nothing as the beast lowered its head, ready to charge into Rictort. The tiger, running on pure adrenaline and the desire to live, rolls away as the horn of the beast strikes the ground. He gets to his feet and slams the sharp point of his shield into the neck of the beast. Clenching his chest, Rictort stumbles away before any of the other Rhinos notice him. It was in that battle that Rictort realized that all of the care he showed towards those that fought beside him fell on deft ears. No one would risk their lives for Rictort as he had for them.
