this was taken inside a jeepney... WW2 military style jeeps that were turned into public transportation vehicles. the filipinos decorate them to customize to personal preferences.. you can see some in the back.

Up in Baguio City is where you really see the "classic" jeepneys, in downtown Manila they are banned and are rarely even seen unless you travel outside the city. The Philippine islands are truly amazing, especially Boracay and the inner islands. Up till 1945 it was considered the pearl of the orient, but the war and the Japanese put an end too that real quick. My wifes grandmother can still remember the Japanese soldiers marching down the middle of the road in front of her house and hearing the war planes flying over her house and being so very scared and sad and angry that her country was being raped and would never be the same again,even being so young she knew what was happening all around her. It's sad but it happened. Still in my eyes it will always be the pearl of the orient and will always be so very beautiful.

oh man, haha i know. when i went through parts of manila.. that was a pretty crazy sight. it was really dirty :\ .. i really loved baguio though and the mountains. it's like untainted beauty.

yeah its a great place. i love thre trees specialy, i went out in the afternoon half naked sketching them. hahaha im crazy like that. get your photos and send them to national geographic, you are a great photographer.

haha, you can actually send pictures off to national geographic? xD i'm not that great it was actually the luck of having a digital camera at hand with me. ashley should do it though, she has awesome pics <3
