"Red" An Illustration using iPad – Procreate Process Video Here!
Hi all,
Another portrait from reference, although rather than keeping true to the original, this one was only loosely based on the original, then and changed into a film noir styled femme fatale.
For a new challenge I worked with a palette of only four colours, Black, White, Red and Green with variations in transparency only. I could have done it with only the three but those Green eyes seemed to really pop as a focal point!
The smoke effect was fun and I'm fairly happy with the result, even though its relatively quick and easy to do with one of Procreates built in brushes.
I think I got myself into a little proportional problems (with the left arm in particular) and you can see in the process playback, which I'll post soon, when I shifted the arm and dress and got myself into trouble. Doing it again, I would do it a little different but I'm here to share my journey into digital painting, for feedback and help, which means its important to post both my successes and failures.
