Just a picture I'm very happy with of my char Romokoe [a Tylosaurus mermaid]. Here she is in festive dress for a special occation. The material cannot be too delicate, her skin which is made up of scales ranging in size from a millimeter up to a few inches, of which can abrade and tear finer fabrics. Metal and tougher fibers are used often in their stye of clothing. The net she is wearing assists in keeping her hair down but still not confined. The chest clasp is an ammonite, abit a small one. I am very pleased with how everything turned out (except her hand, please ignore her hand). I want her earrings, and I'm very happy with her hair as well. *rambles*Romokoe (c) me. Both I and she will hunt you down if you steal.

I 'm wondering, with the peircings, wouldn't the fin be vulnerable to ripping ir tearing? Because the fin is thin and fragile to begin with.

Not true, if Romokoe were of fish species that would be. Her fins are not thin like a fish but fleshy as you would see in the fins of sea turtles. The thickness of the fin the piercings are located at is roughly the same thickness as the diameter of a pen. Unless someone grabbed the piercing and pulled on it violently,it would be very unlikely that it would tear. It's nice to hear a comment like that though.

Thank you much! But please do realise, she is also a very skilled warrior. Being of reptilian origin instead of fish, her kind live a very long time. In the roleplay I have her in right now she is sixty-seven, her kind not even reaching maturity until twenty-five or so. And she's still young, it'll take a long time to even fall out of her peak years. Sides' reptiles don't usually grow frail as they grow old like we do. She's had a long time to develop the right fighting skills.

WOW! I love her outfit. ItΒ΄s so gorgeous, and I can actually see her being able to swim in it and it stay on. The beads, piercings and especially the net are all gorgeous. Are you ever going to color it?

That could work. I know IΒ΄m always scared to color something without first making a separate lineart w/ microns, and safely storing my sketches of it.

I tink she's very beautiful and graceful. the hair net thing is really a nice idea and i can see a way i could apply something similar to my own hair-may I? I love her strungy/wiry sleeves, and the hands you have drawn are better than i could do! All in all, a w9nderful, beautiful image. you are very talented!

Thankies! (^-_-^) She doesn't feel a thing when they do the peircings, the benefits of having a thicker hide. I think that while she isn't wearing this outfit she'll have something like studs to fill the holes to prevent drag and the possible tearing that such drag might induce. Glad you like it.

Yes she does! Thanks for noticing. I agree, I want her top. Maybe when I actually start to try out textiles I could make it. But unfortunetly I think I'm just wishing.

Thank you. I'm glad someone appreciates the functionallity as well. (there are too many outfits for mermaids that you wonder how they get around) I also did that hand about a dozen times, no exaggeration, I usually do well now at hands but this one was a stumper. *shakes fist at hand*
