I just saw Tokio Hotel live at Irving Plaza last night, and it was INSANE!!!They're a band from Germany, and they're AMAZING live. This is Bill, the lead singer. He's real!! haha, the mosh pit was full of rabid psychopathic fangirls...I'm surprised I survived, and I managed to get pretty close, too. it was awesome, an experience I won't soon forget for sure. ^___^
so yeah, I just had to do a portrait of him. lol XD;;
and yes, this is a he...just a very pretty he...he actually has an identical twin whose in the band too...and yes, that's really his hair. Bill's hairstylist is a magician. that's the only explanation we can think of for it being able to defy all laws of gravity. O___o;;;
they sung a lot of their songs in English, but the two songs they sung in German were INCREDIBLE, you could really feel their passion. I was actually able to understand them better in German than when they sung in English, which amused me. lol XD;; <3

Whoa! This is awesome! I love the way you colored this and the hair is just amazing! Man, only 3hrs?? It would have taken me like 3hrs just for the hair, then another 3hrs just for the face, lol; and even then, I would never be able to get it as good as you have here. You're amazing

and the black tear just made it all better. and the german songs were a LOT better.... and his smile! that's something that can never be faked.

I actually never heard them until the concert, I'm shamed to say...the only thing I heard was "It's Raining Men" from when Bill was 13...needless to say, I was skeptical. but I was pleasantly surprised, I really liked them. ^__^ lol

well...there's nothing too special about it, you just gotta practice and observe. I'm no good at explaining stuff like this, it's just instinct to me...eh heh 
but if it helps, I did this with the conte crayon tool and the grainy water blender in Painter, it's all done on one layer too...but that's it, there's no special trick I can teach, ya just gotta observe stuff really well I guess lol. sorry I can't be of more help...

lol...well, you could probably achieve the same kind of brush effect by using the dry media brushes with a lower flow and tweaking some settings...but it takes time to learn, it's not a very basic technique
