Hi there dear! I'm thinking about Midori, well... she would trust Madara on his choices, always. She is very trusting of him... but I think she would notice a certain sense of "doom" on their relationship, as if she could have a premonition. Midori is a positive person, most of the times, but I think deep down she knows what awaits Madara.. one way or another. She would approve their relationship (as I imagine it to be), but after Mito married Hashirama, she would be wary because she finds deep meaning in marriage. I think Midori (of all the pre konoha characters) has the best intuition.. she might not have much knowledge of the past era, just the tales told by her ancestors, long dead.. but she is wise beyond her years and she has a lot of perception. I think she suspects a link between Uchiha/Uzumaki/Senju, and the role of the Uzumaki as mediators...
About Akane, well.. she would be livid! Β I can't say much of it, just that she is not fond of their relationship.. Akane would be widely disappointed with Toka if she suspected of a romance between her and an enemy. That's like I always say... the pack comes before anything else for Akane.. she would think Toka is putting everyone in danger for some silly romance! What if Izuna is luring her just to get hand on some secrets of the Senju? I'm certain she would think nothing good can come out of this...

Ooooh, interesting answers here! I absolutely agree, because we all know how wise Midori is. I've a feeling that Midori and Mito would have gotten along well if they had met, especially with their similar mindsets! About Akane and Toka... I totally imagined Akane to react that way, but her mindset is what's really interesting to hear about, and how the two matriarchs contrast from one another, but are the same in the end, similar to Hashirama and Madara. Also, I think that Toka would look up to Akane greatly as a child and wanted to gain her approval because she's a big lady, and I think that Akane would see her as more than just a princess, but has the potential to do something more. So, I imagine Akane would be pretty disappointed with Toka if Akane discovered that she had feelings for Izuna. (I seriously need to develop my Uzumaki Miyu, who happens to be Mito's mother and the Uzumaki Matriarch, and the mediator between Akane and Midori in my fanfic.)
I have this headcanon that as girls, Yokoshima and Midori worked with blood, sweat and tears to get to their positions now as Matriarch (Midori) and shaman (Yokoshima). Because Yokoshima was often thought of as "weak" by her father and favored Tajima. So, when she meets Midori, she feels a connection with her, someone that she could relate to. And since, according to your Midori blog if I'm not mistaken, Midori couldn't breathe fire properly, and was thought of as weak, too. So, that's an instant connection. Another headcanon is how in your description of her, Akane was independent, even as a child, right? Since Tsubaki was always treated like scum by her father because she always made a mess, I imagine she would have made friends with Akane because the woman who would become the She Wolf of the Senju made her believe in something more than who she is, and Tsubaki would be ever grateful to Akane for that. Simply put, if it wasn't for Akane, Tsubaki would have been a goner.Β Do you think, in an alternate universe, if the Matriarchs survived until Konoha, would they have gotten along? And if Akane were to be revived by the Edo Tensei, what would she say to her family and what would she think about Konoha?
