*Faints from exhaustion*

This took EVERYTHING I HAD TO COUGH UP!!! My poor markers...I'm not surprised if they grew legs and ran away. *Sob*

Anywho, I'm not gonna get into much detail about the work, but this is my interpretation (sp?) of my favorite fairytail, Sleeping Beauty. This is based on the ORIGINAL fable, not Disney.
But, she is still a princess - she's a witch princess. She didn't prick her finger on a spinning wheel, she had a curse that made her "die" from an untimely "death" (I use parenthesis (sp?) because she's not really dead - or is she?). And she's been that way for...forty...fifty years tops. And, as the story tells, she's waiting for her Prince Kar - uh, I mean, prince to come and save her.

I used a bit of a gothic/fantasy background, and since she has been asleep for a long time, I placed thorns growing around the tomb. If you notice her hair, you'll see it's unusually long, and the candles have long been burnt out.

This is actually my second work in an art series I'm doing; you'll see the other three in time.

The blue rose is my personal touch *wink*

Also, the strange little balls of light all over the picture? Those are fireflies. They're not a yellowish-hue, I know, but 'TIS MY ARTWORK!!!
