I always thought kangaroos were the strangest loooking creatures until I saw a duck billed platypus These are the mule deer of the outback. We have mule deer everywhere here. Sorry, I'm tired and need to go to bed...

I agree with you Alice, they are very strange looking creatures. I couldn't get any closer because they had joeys in their pouches and there was a huge buck keeping an eye on me!

The males can be during mating season and when they they feel threatened.

They balance on their tail and kick with their back legs [link] The one in this video is about 2/3rds the size of the one that I saw.
