It's hard to believe that all these hoodies are really talented. They should be trying to get somewhere

That's what I liked about this, the bright colours. It certainly brightened up the old building.

I think a lot of kids do graffiti for the fun of it, the love of painting. Graffiti writers also experience a side of the city that many people never will, and appreciate the beauty in something others would find unpleasant.

I only find it unpleasant when it is in inappropriate places.

very nice photography, the reflection is very important to this photo... u dont like graffiti, most likely because u dont understand graffiti,, i imagine the hardest part for you to conceive is the youth who do the graff art and why they do it. just, keep snappin up shots!

I don't have a problem with graffiti as long as it doesn't cause a problem to someone else. Abandoned buildings that are to be demolished are fine, but not people's houses, cars, trains etc.

graff isnt exactly about me or you, or how anyone feels about it.
sometimes and more often than not, its just an act of destruction manifested in an artistic way of sorts.
when i paint illegally, i go to specific spots which are not personal/private property (mostly 'demo-planned' areas).. . but when i was younger, i used to paint certain places because of the personal challenge, or for the adrenaline, or for a specific view point.
in the world of graffiti art, there is different levels of dedication and major differences of admiration.
hope this helps u understand the world you took a field trip into,, u wound up with some great shots - hold those tight!

i'd say this is what a lot of people do after work as a release instead of getting blind at the pub which i quite respect. most graff artists i've come across do it full time or work & produce art in free time.
i think secretly you would like to do sum graffiti, you don't like it but you climb fences to see it hehe & post pictures you have put extra work into.
is cool

I don't have the talent to be a graffiti artist which is why I am a photographer. What I do like are teh bright colours.
I don't agree with graffiti on private property, trains, the outsides of buildings etc but I don't see a problem with it on the inside of buildings like this which will be demolished.

It is true that some people under estimate the talent that goes into graffiti. I call graffiti "art", because ive tried to draw it myself, and its pretty difficult. Kids that can do this, have real talent.

i'm a huge graf fan. friends with a ton of artists. creep into abandoned buildings and trespass on property (just like they do) to find it, shoot it, etc...
i find it ironic that you're ok with it in places like this, that will be demolished... by whom? the city, or the private owner?
are you ok with people trespassing and criminal activity as long as it's on what you consider "condemned" property?
someone still owns it, and it isn't the guy with the spray paint...
just thinking out loud, since this is by far one of the most stunning and colorful collection of aerosol art i've seen in a LONG time...

I know that it is illegal to trespass and I don't condone it. The building is just about falling apart and has been that way for a number of years - it was actually owned by one of the large corporations and seems to have been vacant for over 10 years.
In the big pictue of life, covering the inside of a building like this in graffiti is not that big an issue - better there then a privately owned property or the outside of a building that has not been condemned.

No problem Malcolm, they definitely do pop. I had no idea that you were into UE, I thought you mostly just shoot landscapes.
