Description 's commission of her OC, Tallis. I made a slightly more Fleur-like body pattern for her - her body, legs and neck are elongated - she's 17" tall to the top of her head. I made her tree-shoes separately and then stitched them onto her legs for a more 3D effect.

The detail on her shoes is simply sublime. Gorgeous, gorgeous OC design - DerpyAshley , she's so very lovely! Adore how you captured the curves and the spikes in her manestyle. Especially love the base of the tail - looks so hard to translate into a plush with the delicate work there and yet it works so well with the overall image and you mastered it perfectly. And her horn looks absolutely magnificent. Just a very impressive design and execution.Β  Lovely work as always!

Aw, thanks! Well, if it was made in clay I'm sure the boots would be even more 3D and tree-like. I'd really like to try sculpting some time, but I'm sure I'd be terrible at it...

I used a layer of minky "heat n' bonded" to a layer of lining cotton, actually - bonding the two fabrics together makes it quite stiff.

Ah, thanks! I did something similar for the ears of my Flutterbat. You can make double-sided minky with heat n' bond!

Ah, yes! I bet it's not as soft as real double-sided minky, though - I find heat and bond tends to make things kind of...cardboardy. Which can be good, under the right circumstances!

I love the sharp ending mane around the head...very appealing and draws significant attention. Β Overall, the design is very balanced I feel...And I'm quite enjoying the Fleur body pattern shape. Β Haven't seen one of those yet I don't think

Thanks! I think I'd make a few changes to the pattern if I used it again - not that I expect to use this pattern very often. Unfortunately, to get truly "Fleur-like" proportions (with really sticky legs) I think I'd have to put some kind of wire support frame in

Yea, it's not a very popular OC body shape from what I've seen at least. For what it's meant to be, it get's the shape across. Form over function (that function being: a plush that can stand by itself ), is a tough call. I've seen some friggin accurate and awesome custom figures made, but I hear that characters like (stunningly accurate) Chrysalis and Cadence's have trouble staying up if they're not attached to some form of base or stand. Β
