Description
It's funny, really,
What life throws your way
How you can be going in one direction one minute,
Then the opposite the next.
It's funny, really,
That two people such as you and I could meet on that cool October night.
That you and I would become so close
So quickly
And fade away
Just like that.
It's funny,
Because we were so close
We loved each other so much
Told each other everything
Missed each other when we were apart
We needed each other
And we were best friends
But it all went to waste.
Because one morning we woke up
And our connection,
Our special friendship,
Was gone.
And as quickly as it all started,
Everything fell apart.
And now, we're no more.
Try as we did,
As much as we wanted to fix things between us,
It just wouldn't be.
We weren't meant to be.
It's funny, really,
Because although life took us down two separate paths,
I still long to be with you,
To share my nights with you
Like I did before.
I miss you more than any other
And my heart heaves a sigh every time you pass me by
But I know, deep down
That it's all in the past.
And that we're separate now.
We're separate.
Even still,
You'll never completely fade away.
Something from you will still remain
Something will stay.
Because I'll always remember you.
And if I can hold on to a memory,
You'll never really have left.
It's funny, really,
Because you may be reading this.
And I just hope you know
That I really do miss you.
And that although things will never work out,
I'll remember a time that they did.
I just hope you know
Because now that you're gone, hope is all I have left.
