"Goner" is definitely my favorite track off this album, though "We Don't Believe What's On Tv" is close competition, this is awesome!

Hehe, I can't stop listening to Blurryface either.XD  I actually MADE myself listen to something other than it the other day.XD  Sigh, unlike you though I haven't had time to do some awesome fanart!  I really like the little doodle in the corner of Tyler reaching into the audience.

You're very welcome.  I was going into withdrawal, so I'm listening to it right now.xD  It's a good thing to have take over your life though!

Exactly.  Jeez, and who needs drugs when you've got Blurryface anyway?  Not to sound trivial or anything.
So, I know I'm about to ask the impossible question, but what's your favorite song from Blurryface?

you're exactly right that's actually impossible aaaaah okay so heavydirtysoul is veeeery important but so is message man, and also not today but fairly local was the first one and goner makes me want to lie on the ground and cry okay shit sorry i can't decide this is like picking a favourite child.... what is your favourite song?

SIDFan1 In reply to fireinavase [2015-06-21 17:39:29 +0000 UTC]

I KNOW.  But I had to ask anyway.XD
All the songs you mentioned are all excellent!  Oh, so "Fairly Local" was the 1st song from Blurryface that you heard?  Or was it the 1st t|o|p song you heard?  "Fairly Local" was what got me into t|o|p, so it's definitely one of my favorites from Blurryface.  Um..."Goner", it's so so...well you know.XD  I'd also have to say that "Ride" is a favorite too.  "Not Today" is incredible.  I just love the line: "I look outside, and see a whole world better off without me in it, trying to transform it".  Gosh, you an me both Tyler.
So basically I love all of the Blurryface songs.XD

nooooo just the 1st one from blurryface that came out, the first one was actually semi-automatic i think in 2013 and then i downloaded the whole of vessel and listened to it for the very first time while i was in a car with my whole family and holy shit i just started crying because i felt understood. so yeah try explaining that one to your family, they probably think i'm insane. but yeah twenty one pilots is very important to me...
Ride is sooo amazing the whole a bullet for them, a bullet for you part is veeeery accurate and not today too so yeah i love all twenty one pilots song, the twenty one pilots song i don't love still needs to be found..
Do you also like the older twenty one pilots stuff? like vessel and the albums before that?

Wow, you've been listening to them for a few years then.  I've only been listening to them for about a month and a half, but I'm pretty sure I've already tracked down and listened to every single on of their songs.xD  Even the really random things like Tyler playing "Build Me Up Buttercup" during the "House Of Gold" video shoot.XD
Anyhow "Vessel" is a really powerful album, I don't blame you for crying when you listened to it for the 1st time.  Although breaking down while in the car with your family must have been a little odd.  Long live being insane!XD  I totally get it though.  Twenty One Pilots just...man they just GET IT.  They have so many songs that just fit in so well with where I am at in my life right now.  And the things they sing about are things that I think about often.  They're just so awesome.
Yup I like all their albums, Vessel, Regional At Best, their 1st album.  They're all so terrific.  I first heard Vessel and I was so blown away like "How can each song be even better than the one that preceded it!?"XD  "Regional At Best" has a bunch of my favorites on it like "Forest", "Glowing Eyes", and "Kitchen Sink".  And their 1st album is so beautiful.  The lyrics are incredible and I love how rough the entire album sounds, it ends up adding a lot to the songs IMO.  What about you?  Do listen to their older stuff a lot too?

yeeeeees they def get it, but it is always so scary showing it to other people, because what if they don't understand, but also what if they do? everytime someone says that they can identify i am always like 'i'm soooo sorry'. god sorry if i don't make much sense right now i am sooo tired ^^
and yeeeees i fricking love their older stuff i've been trying to get my hands on physical copies of the albums for forever now!
kitchen sink is sooo impirtant btw and addict with a pen makes me feel so many things, and their first album is sooo important, i used to have 'before you start your day' as my alarm in the morning and 'friend, please' is important for sooo many reasons and just aaaaagh i really really love twenty one pilots there is literally not a single song by them that i don't like ^^
how did you find them btw?

You were a little nervous about showing TOP to other people too?   I felt (feel) the same way!  I love them so much and I wanted to share their music, but I kept thinking about how much the lyrics and songs meant to me.  I couldn't stand the thought that if I showed them to someone that they might just write TOP off, or say "Oh, they sound cool".XD  And as you said what if they do identify?  Yikes!  I still don't really play "Stressed Out" for anyone...
Good luck finding physical copies of their first two albums.  I looked up Regional at Best a little while back just to see if there were any copies for sale.  There's one listing on Ebay for $1500 (it's still up).  And I couldn't find ANY copies of the 1st album at all.   Still, we can always dream ("it's fun to fantasize").XD
I was reading through a Q&A session a couple weeks ago with Tyler and Josh and someone wanted to know what a kitchen sink meant to Tyler.  I freakin' loved his answer.  Here's the link if you'd like to check it out.^^www.reddit.com/r/Music/comment…
I totally agree about TOP not having a single bad song.  Even the songs that I had to warm up to are some of my favorites now!  Haha, "Before You Start Your Day" as an alarm, that's pleasant to wake up to.^^  "Isle of Flightless Birds" is one that just sticks with me.  And "Ms. Believer", "The Pantaloon"...ah screw, all of them rock!XD
Oh so I found out about TOP through the Alternative Press website.  They have this monthly segment "10 Songs You Need To Hear From (insert month/year here)".  So "Fairly Local was on the March list.  I listened to it and was like "Eh, electronic/rap", I could never get into this."  But several weeks later I was still thinking about it.  So I caved and listened to it again and thought "OMIGOSH, this is awesome!"  Then I bought Vessel, and so on and so forth.xD
What about you?  I know you said "Semi-Automatic" was the 1st song you heard back in 2013, but how did you find out about it?

fireinavase In reply to SIDFan1 [2015-06-30 13:34:55 +0000 UTC]

yeeeeees i am always soooo nervous showing them to people because it's something so presonal you know?
i already made myself a copy of regional at best but yeah maybe one day i'll actually own them...
yeah kitchen sink is amazing didn't he actually say the same thing about the logo? i think he said something along the lines of that you yourself have to give the logo a meaning and not tell anyone, i can't remember where though it was quite a while back. i reeeaaaally want to meet tyler one day, i need to ask him about his tattoos and i think he would be such an interesting person to talk to he just seems so wise for someone his age.
My best friend and i were just listening to random songs on spotify and semi-automatic came on and we actually didn't listen to it properly we were just like "eh, that song is alright, the rap part is weird though" i mean we heard it but didn't really pay attention to what he was saying. and like two months after that i had a really long car journey and what i do is i normally just download random music that i wanted to check out and one of the albums i downloaded was vessel because i remembered that i had heard the bands name somewhere before and the rest is history ^^. so yeah that was probably one of the best coincidences of my life
if i'm lucky i might get to see them live in November. I couldn't go last year because my school had this day where people can go and inform themselves about our school and i had to give tours... I regret it soooo much though because they played for a hundred people back then and now it's for like 2000

I totally get it. Normally if I'm really into a band I can't wait to have my mom, or brother listen to a song.  I really like to share the music I like with my family, cause they usually enjoy it too.  Actually, a brief random fun fact: My mom LOVES Gerard's solo album.  Seriously, I swear she loves it more than I do.xD
Anyhow, I kept TOP to myself for probably...2 weeks?  But then I was cleaning in the house and I asked my brother if he'd mind if I put on some music.  He didn't so I put on Vessel.  After "Ode To Sleep" my brother was like "That was a really awesome song, could you play it again?"  Now I've got my whole family hooked.XD  Well, except my dad, but I'll get him eventually.
I'm hoping that I'll get really lucky and some person who doesn't know what they have will sell their Regional At Best and/or TOP's 1st album on Ebay for $20...probably not going to happen, but I can still dream.
Yes, Tyler did say something very similar about TOP's logo.  I guess the two are really interlinked.  There's a transcript of what he says about on Wikipedia, not the greatest transcript, but still...en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twenty_O…
I'd like to meet Tyler, and Josh of course, one day too.  I'd feel too shy to ask about his tattoos though (although I am very curious).  I agree that he seems very wise for his age too.  I had this moment the other day when I realized that when he wrote the lyrics to "Car Radio" he must have been 21, 22 at the most.  That kind of blew my mind.  "Car Radio" just has so many profound lines...I can't even imagine writing anything even 1/2 as close to incredible as those lyrics are, not if I'm 21 or 81.
Wow, what a way to discover Twenty One Pilots!  That is such an awesome coincidence.
I hope you do get to see them in November, though take my advice: Buy those tickets NOW.  Do not think "Oh I can get them in a couple days", the tickets WILL be gone if you do that.  They were playing 4 different shows in my area, all of which were in places I could've gone to.  But due to some bad timing and circumstances I didn't ask my parents about getting tickets in time and all 4 shows were sold out within' a week and a 1/2.

i do the exact same thing ^^ my sister's music taste is pretty much identical to mine because of that, it normally takes a while to convince her though when i first showed her MCR she absolutely hated it and now she pretends that she owns MCR ^^
I think it will be very difficult to ask about his tattoos, especially if you meet them after a show because there are so many people there..
There was one interview I watched with Tyler which is quite long and he just talks about Vessel and idk it was quite a while back but ever since i watched that interview I was convinced that he is one of the wisest people alive. It is like half an hour but if you have the time I really encourage you to watch it it definitely made me cry at some parts www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmGjxb…
Also I BOUGHT THE TICKETS!!! It's not that probable that they will sell out though because where I'm from they rarely do in that kind of genre, but yeah they are now sitting on my desk and I am waaaaay to excited for an event that is like four months in the future ^^

Aww, that's so awesome that you and your sister can share music!  Oh no, she hated MCR!?  Ah, pain...in...my...heart!  Haha, good thing she came around though.^^  I share music with my little sister too.  She's about 12, so I was really surprised when she said that she really liked top.  When I got my copy of "Vessel" she and I sat on the couch reading the lyric booklet and we kept looking at each going "Wow, I didn't realize Tyler said THAT!  Mind blown."XD
Ah, and then speaking of "Vessel", there's the interview you linked me to.  Um, I did watch the 1st part, but I couldn't bring myself to watch the 2nd.  I hate to sound like a total wuss, but watching that interview was...uncomfortable.  I actually had a knot in my stomach by the end of it...:/
WAHHHT!?  You got the tickets!  High5!  Oh man, I'm so envious right now...  Sigh, snap out of it.>.<  I do not envy the wait you have though.XD  Last April I got tickets to see Panic! At The Disco in August, longest wait EVER!  I was fine, and then I'd think about the upcoming concert that was still months away...  Yeah, do your best not think about it.XD

yeah i know what i mean i think you can really tell that he is very uncomfortable at that time and tyler's one of these people where you kinda pick up on his emotions if that makes sense
I KNOOOOOOW the tickets are on my desk and i just keep staring at them it's killing me... panic! is so woth the wait though they are so amazing live they were actually my first proper concert ^^

SIDFan1 In reply to fireinavase [2015-08-24 15:50:06 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, Tyler's emotions are pretty easy to pick up on, so that makes sense.  He even says it with "They say I'm emotional" and all that.XD  But, watching that video made me feel pretty bad afterward, like I'd seen something I shouldn't have.  Bottom line; I hated seeing Ty so obviously unhappy.
Those tickets are just burning a hole in your mind.XD  Hey, Panic! was my 1st proper concert too.  Totally worth the wait, I had so much fun that night.
