Sonya Blade is my second favorite Mortal Kombat character (next to SubZero, of course) and I really liked her alternate outfit in the newest Mortal Kombat game (2011). I already owned the wig, boots, tank top, and hat, so I figured, why not? I made the shorts, thigh holster, armbands, dog tags, and shield, and purchased the sunglasses and Camelbak gloves. Actual comm watch courtesy of my husband and it does work!

I work at an animal hospital, so I lift/pull/push anywhere from 5-75 lbs every day for around 8 hours! And now that I'm working at a 2-story facility, I get to do about 20 sets of stairs a day.

Personally, I don't like the Mortal Kombat games (too much blood for me), but I admit that you look excellent and sexy as Sonya Blade... LIKE A REAL ACTION GIRL! Actually, this pic makes me think if you are a tomboy; anyway, you have won this fight. Well done!

Haha, thanks!! This was a really great costume for me (it's easy to make and comfy to wear), and I'm quite the tomboy. "Killer Instinct" was my other favorite arcade game growing up; I tend to play mostly RPGs now, though.

Have you heard of Skullgirls? It's a fighting game, which came out for XBOX Live Arcade and PlayStation Network some months ago. Its characters have an interesting design, which might be a challenge for a wonderful cosplayer like you, for example: Valentine or Parasoul. What do you think?

I'm not sure about all that. Most conventions don't allow guns with moving parts, and a lot of cities have silhouette laws. I'll be able to research it more when I get around to the costume.
