Description The Mechanic was once a slave to an very old blueblood. At first she hated him, and would purposefully mess up in her duties and spoil his food, but the old man never got angry. He simply waited. Soon she came to see him in a grandfatherly sense. She acted as his caretaker, helping maintain his land and health. When the time came that they trusted each other, the blueblood taught her to master mechanics and fitted her ankle with a special chain, saying that if she could figure out how to break it, she would be free. At first she ignored it for her studies, believing it was another of the old mans tricks. Soon she became a master in not only mechanics, but metalworking, architecture, and many other professions. When there was nothing left to be learned, her attention turned back to the chain. It was a complicated lock, though it did not take much for her to break. That very night she left without a goodbye, becoming the Eescapee.

She spent many sweeps traveling, earning a living by fixing things in the towns she passed. When in one village, she caught word of The Summoner's rEVOLUTION from a giant brownblood, the Helushka. She joined him, and they soon became moirails. They won many battles together, and recruited thousands to the cause. She worked both as a weaponsmith and a spy.

But the good times were not to last. The Mechanic caught word that the next attack would be on the village of her old master. She knew that old as he was he would not survive the attack and did not deserve death. For days she argued with her moirail and the other generals, trying to call off the attack. They would not listen, so she sliped away in the middle if the night.

It was an ambush. The blueblood had died sweeps ago. Instead other highbloods had also caught word of the attack and laid traps for the force. When the Mechanic arrived, she was taken by sunrise and quickly killed by the Cackler, a half-insane laughassassin, and his caretaker/moirail, the Aislinge. Her broken body was hung on a tall tree at the villages entrance as a warning.

When the Helushka saw this, he was filled with rage. He and his hoards of warriors charged into the village and razed it to the ground. Half the army was wiped out by the highbloods, but they won. The Cackler and Aislinge were cornered in what would be the final battle. His rage making him reckless, the Helushka was killed, but he took the Cackler with him, as well as the Aislinge's right leg. She managed to escape though, dragging her self back to the sea.

The Mechanic's body was taken down from the tree. She and the Helushka were buried side by side under the remains of the late blueblood's hive. Their tale is one still whispered to lowblood wrigglers as bedtime stories, hoping to inspire either fear, or admiration.
