Alright I'll just come out and say it, I'm really not a fan of Hunger Games. I don't hate it, I just really dislike it. The first two movies were fine, not great just alright and nothing special about them but Mockingjay part 1 and 2 were so boring and too long that I just dont care anymore. I would not mind if there are tiny bits of actions in these movies alongs they keep the characters interesting or at least have a likable personality. But they're between bland, stale, wooden, boring and uninteresting. They mostly talk about district discussion and doing that whole filming nonsense. I don't care about those, I want something to be entertain or something to make me care. Also I found it too overly-serious, the tone is dour, the pacing is too slow, Katniss+Peeta was so force(because they hardly have any chemistry), and I personally found Katniss herself a boring, moody, and whining character. I mean I like Jennifer Lawrence, I think she's a great actress, and I do really enjoy her performance in Silver Linings Playbook but I couldn't get investigate with her character because all she does most of the time is pouting around. Plus I dont found Katniss that great like everyone else saids she is because she hardly makes any decisions herself, she doesn’t discover anything and she almost always has to be told what to do. And these movies are no fun and it's too much mopey and dopey. Yes I know war sucks, their future world sucks and everyone is really sad and sucky I get it but if there’s no levity then there’s zero motivation for the main characters to continue to fight. If the world is so terrible, if no one even so much as cracks a smile, tells a joke, or at least think of something positive then why fight for their future? If it’s so terrible then why even attempt to fix it? Other than the fact that the plot demands the main characters to, there isn’t a reason. The results in a movie that isn’t fun in any way. I just couldn't connect with any of the characters. I want something to lighten up. I mean the reason Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Avatar The Last Airbender, Marvel Cinematic Universe, and even Harry Potter works for me because I really like these characters and I do really care whats gonna happen to them. They laughed, they smiled, they can get angry, they can get sad, they even have fun personalities, and they have a good connection with each other. I just want something entertaining and to have fun, not taking things way too seriously. Hell, I even took Power Rangers more seriously than these characters. Plus really, do they have to put that stupid love triangle thing? I personally don't care who ends up with Katniss. I'm getting sick of that kind of trope.

And you know what, I think Effie Trinket said it best with this quote "Your tacky romantic drama and your Defender-of-the-Helpless act. Only it isn't an act which makes you more unbearable."

If you like The Hunger Games, more power to you. I mean it's not one of the worst media, I have to admit it wasn't bad as Twilight and I will say this, Haymitch Abernathy is probably the only character I kinda like. But I just want something more fun and entertaining. As for the book series, while I haven't read them but I heard the last third isn't very good, so Ill pass.
