"Ahahahaha I winnnnnn" Michaelangelo cheered and did a back flip. The night was cool, yet the air held a heavy forboadence.

"That's...not...fair...Mikey" you gasped in between breaths, "You said...you'd give me....a 5 second...head start"

"Maybe you should sit down, (y/n)" Donatello offered in concern as you tried to lower your heart rate after the rooftop sprint around town. You hadn't done it before, so you were a bit winded. This was the first time you had went topside with the brothers. Letting Donatello guide you, you sat down on the cold pavement.

You had met the four two years ago when you had gotten in a horrific car accident that sent the car up in flames. Raphael pulled you out just before it exploded, and he took most of the impact, shielding your body from shrapnel. They nursed you back to health, and took you in when they realized you had no one else...you were an orphan. Once you had turned 18 they gave you 200 dollars and kicked you out onto the streets. How sweet, huh? Ever since then you had been floating around, that was until the night you almost lost your life turned into the night you found it.

"I did give you a five second head start" Mikey exclaimed, "You're just tooooo sloooooow OW" Raph smacked him in the back of the head

"Raph" Leonardo scolded with a sigh

"Fearless?" He sang back in a mocking tone, sizing up to his brother instantly

"Guys are you kidding m-" a sudden explosion shook the building you were on, cutting off your sentence and sending fear through your veins. You reached out for Donatello on instinct, his hand found your forearm and he pulled you protectively against his chest as the ground below you shook.

"WE'VE GOT TO GET OUT OF HERE, MOVE NOW" Leonardos voice echoed through the night, but it was too late...the building was already collapsing under you and Donatello. "DON, GET OUT OF THERE"

"HOLD ONTO ME" Donatello yelled, he pulled you closer into his embrace as the two of you fell into the darkness below.

The next thing you know you're waking up in a soft bed with a warm blanket wrapped around you. Shifting your stiff frame around you groan as the throbbing comes back in your head.

"Hey" a calm voice whispers. You feel a large hand stroke your hair out of your eyes, "(Y/n)?" You relax when you realize it's Leonardo. You slowly open your eyes and are met with sapphires that are full of concern. "How's your head feeling?" You groan in response and he smiles at you, "I see" he replies with a chuckle, suddenly he changes...he looks scared. "(Y/n)...you have to wake up...please...you've got to get up... now" his voice grows more frantic as he grips your shoulders, "WAKE UP NOW YOU'RE IN DANGER"

Snapping your eyes open you're not met with a warm blanket but the rubble of a broken building...it was all a dream...how long bad you been out? Focusing on your surroundings you find that the remaining turtles are in the heat of battle with the Krang. "They ambushed us" you think as you try to sit up, "they wanted to kill us..." You cough, someone moans in pain beside you, looking over you see Donatello, barely conscious, but alive. "Donnie?" you reach out to touch his face but pain shoots through your arm. Warm liquid seeps down your bare skin, a deep cut now mares your soft flesh. "Donnie" you call again, "Wake up" you feel tears start to swell in your eyes as he groans in pain, his eyes flutter open then back shut again. A large chunk of the ceiling lays across his legs, it's not cement so you think you can move it. "What happened" you ask in confusion as you grip the edge of the ceiling that's on Don and pull...it won't budge and he groans in pain. You're so confused, everything happened so fast...

"(Y/N)" Raphael calls out. You snap your head up to see him running over to you, "(Y/n)" he repeats your name as he reaches you side then gasps when he sees his brother, "Hold on Donnie!" he says as he grips the object covering his brother and easily pulls it off, tossing it to the side. "Donnie? Hey, can you hear me?" Raph has blood dripping down his temple, he looks like he took a hard hit but the ninja doesn't even seem to realize he's injured. He checks his brother over,

"RAPH LETS GET THEM OUT OF HERE WE HAVE TO GO!" Leonardo yells while fighting off the krang, "THERE'S TOO MANY WE NEED TO RETREAT!" Raph nods and stands up, throwing his brother over his shoulder and making a beeline for the nearest exit.

That's when things get worse.

The world falls into slow motion as you turn and see a Krangs gun pointed right at Raphael as he jogs towards the exit after Mikey. Leo is holding off the droids as his brothers retreat, but he missed this one. You forget your pain as you break into a sprint

The laser is charging...

You push, you're almost there...

The gun fires...

A door slams.

"I wish he could see, father"

"There was nothing to be done, he ponders on what could have been, and I worry he will drive himself mad"

"I believe he already has, father. It has been three months"

"It all happened so fast, father...I tried...we tried...I should have jumped...if I did we wouldn't have fallen"

"My son, you can not blame yourself. You know this."

"I do father, but if only I could go back to make different choices...if only..."
