Taken in the fall of 2010. A dying yellow-jacket clings to a fallen autumn leaf for dear life.This was the last piece of life I saw for the autumn/winter season. The birds are beginning to return again.

I know. He was just sitting on that leaf, sort of walking around. I took a small leaf and kind of poked him with it to see if he would fly away, but nope. He was dying and done for
