Lavi (D.Gray Man) cosplay, third uniform, debuted at Otakon 2009 (Saturday).I'm too lazy right now to go in depth about this costume here, so, if you want to know more, visit my cosplay.com account >.>
I'll upload more pics once I edit them. Too tired now, and PS hates me.
Long story short: I love this costume *__* Want to fix up the wig a bit, though.

lol i think im gonna use bigass candy/chocolate tins the circle ones you sometimes get... lol
but i dunno what i'd use for the handle....
especially since it has to be in proportion... errm i think i have some suitable things lying around i'll see i they work hehe =]
how did you attach the handle to the hammer bit though??

There's a pole running all the way through the round hammer part-- I had to cut two holes through the hammer and the pole slides through. I don't how/if you can drill through tin metal very easily, so I don't know what kind of options you'll have to attach the handle D:

This isn't exactly how I made mine, but this video gave me some ideas, so maybe it could help you out too!

Mainly, I used the idea of the cement cardboard tube for the barrel of the hammer. It makes a nice perfect cylinder, so you don't have to roll something. You can find them at home improvement stores like Lowes or Home Depot, and they're relatively inexpensive. And I used PVC pipe for the handle~

Well, my friend bought the wig originally, so I'm not 100% sure. It started off as a very long wig (this style, I believe [link] ) but more importantly, the color was Henna Red [link] This is a color that I feel shifts depending on the lot color... Or it just photographs differently? Because my wig is slightly darker and more reddish than most pics online I see of this color.
Nevertheless, I'm pretty happy with the color! At first I was toying with the idea of tinting it a bit, but I decided it wasn't necessary

Ohman, you're amazing at making costumes. I hope to be half as good as you, one day. One day... I just need to get off my lazy ass and do things. ;_; I have the know-how, just not the dedication/motivation. XD I'm such a procrastinator...
But back on topic, here, this is amazing. Your costumes always impress me, fo sho.
If I do go to Otakon next year, I'll definately have to keep an eye out for you, huuhuu.

The headband IS pretty sparkly! I used gold paper brads-- worked pretty well! I need to restyle the wig a bit, but I'm pretty happy, heh heh.
