Oh, the nostalgia that this wrought upon me.
And the laughter. That too.
"Thank you, oh benevolent Lord!" XD

Ah Pokemon, I blame it for all my OCD attention to detail. (All because I was young, tried to use a potion on Giovanni's Gym battle...and threw the Master Ball by mistake, losing it forever)
Hmm, 1998...1st Grade, that would make you....18-19?

Pokemon was my first fandom too. xD And when I finally learned how to surf the internet, I looked up all the geeky stats and variables and probability things and I learned maths. Which I normally hate. But I was so into pokemons.
I still remember my first pidgey named Pete. When I picked up pokemon Yellow for the first time I didn't know what to do to beat Brock, so I just trained this pidgey until it could win by brute force. xD And after that I ignored all my other pokemon and just trained Pete. He'd be about twice the level of his opponents....lol.
(I like the subtext that says, "based on an unreliable memory". xDD)

Aw, man, I did the same thing with my Charizard! I didn't believe in giving them nicknames, though. Their names must be au natural. :3 Aaaanyway, yeah, I pretty much just trained him, to the point where he was level 100 and all my other pets were level 20 or something. xDD
UGH BROCK WAS SO HARD. But I was so excited when I finally beat him! My eyes welled up with pride. *_*
Oh yeah, that subtext is totally needed. My sister saw this comic, and was like, "None of this is true" and I was like "READ THE DISCLAIMER, BEEYOTCH" XD

Oh yeah, brute force was the only way to go with Brock. I mean, strategy? Got you nowhere. Especially considering Charmander was- by far- the coolest of the starters. I didn't know butterfree would be effective! That would've saved me a ton of grief. However, I remember that, after beating Brock, my Charmander evolved into a Charmeleon. Proudest moment of my life.
Also- you caught Zapdos? AWESOME. I never could get him. I think I just kept resetting till I finally catched him. But then I never used him. xDD Articuno was just a total beast, I guess.
I never did catch them all, though. Never did. ;_;

xD I actually did use my Zapdos. In my pokemon yellow party, I think I had like three electric pokemon when I battled the Elite Four; Zapdos, Jolteon and Pikachu, because they were all too awesome-looking to leave behind in the PC.
Oh. The "catch'm-all" goal. I completed it on one game, my most precious game, pokemon crystal, and my overall playing time was at like 200 hours or something. *had no life* But it's so unfair that you have to trade with other games to get the rest of the pokemon you can't find in your version or which evolve only by trading. I was lucky that my little cousin had her own pokemon phase around the same time as I did, or I would never have caught them all.

Chanukkah is a kinda like the Jewish equivalent of Christmas. It goes on for 8 days and 8 nights, and traditionally children receive presents (some bigger, some smaller) on each night. You can read more about it here:[link]
Well, a PS3's still good. Do you guys celebrate any winter holidays in Indonesia? (By the way, you write English very well!)

It wasn't the reason, but it was a definite incentive. Especially for my jealous younger sister. xDDD

When I was younger I used to play Pokemon with my friends.
I was always Mew or Celebi. C:

An excellent choice! Celebi wasn't around when I was obsessed (I was strictly 1st season), but I would've killed to be Mew. Unfortunately, our recess pokemon club did not allow legendaries. It was a very strict club for first graders. =\

I don't even try to memorize them all.
