I've always liked lighthouses. To me it feels like something from the past.
The colours of this painting are absolutely realistic and like someone else also mentioned, the seagulls definitely bring it to life.

I especially like the seagulls - they bring it alive.
There's a seaside town on the east coast of England called Sherringham where I visited a lot when I was growing up!

i had to go on this lighthouse tour once with my parents. i really didn't get it; there is this whole franchise built up around northeast coast lighthouses--all these little products and things.
but i liked the lighthouses. a lot really. i'd rather see them alone though, in a peaceful setting--much like this. I have kind of a dual memory of that trip. the bad part is all the people and their bizzare obsession with something you could tell they didn't really appreciate. but the good part--the atmosphere of the rocks and the ocean and the breeze and the solitary structure--you've captured here.
