Oh hey, I know that song that Reggie's singing in the third panel! I remember hearing it in 7th grade history class, and the teacher explained that it was a classic song that captured the era of the Depression quite well.
Considering how this comic takes place in the 40's (?), I think it makes historical sense, too.
