It's kind of hard to explain if you've never seen how the film works, but the white border is built-in. I purposely didn't peel off all of the developing layer because I like the way it looks. If I had done it "correctly" the border would be pure white. Hope that made sense.

Thanks! The weird streaks in the sky are from the film being expired (I think this batch expired in '03).

It's hard to say what, exactly, draws me to these. Maybe it's the old western feel that I attach with watching those movies when I was younger. Maybe it's just the thought of a different place and time.

Hell, maybe it's just the pretty clouds in the sky mixing with the effect of old film.

But I love 'em in any case.

For me, the attraction to things like this is part of the siren call of the desert. The vast, empty spaces of the American southwest, dotted with decaying relics of an age before I-40 was built, when travel was slower and getting to your destination really was half the fun of the trip.
