these are based on a guy i know but its a little over-exaggerated
yes this guy likes to boast about his ~sonic games collection~, but he doesnt actually have any of the original games in the collection. none of the megadrive or mastersystem games lol.
him getting angry about critique is true as well
im not sure if he ever got mad at anyone saying his sonic games collection didnt have any of the old games in it tho

while i agree that you dont need every sonic game to have a sonic game collection, or any game series for that matter, there are usually a select few games every "collector" should have to "complete" their series.
For instance, I'm a MegaMan(X) fan. and while i do indeed have every megaman game starting from X1 and up, excluding battle network 4 and up and starforce since they dont interest me, i couldnt say I had a collection without at least having at least one game in the series on each console (X1, 2, or 3, for snes, at least X4, 5 or 6 for PSX, and at least one of the X games for ps2 like command mission or X7 or 8).
However, the Sonic games are kind of an exception in my opinion at least. If some kid came up to me and said he had a sonic game collection and he didnt have any copy of the original 4 genesis games in some way shape or form, i would find his "collection" severely lacking.
Sonic Heroes, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, Sonic 06, and Sonic and the 7 Rings, Sonic and the Black Knight, doesnt exactly scream "collection" to me, so much as it screams "sonic fag" who has no appreciation for the original games that are the foundation the sonic series is- WERE the foundation the sonic series WAS (fix'd) based on. At least when someone has gems collection or something, you know they at least know of the originals.
I'm not being a "retro-fag" or whatever, but the same applies for any game with a long running history. Imagine a "Konami games" collection and the only thing you have is Metal Gear Solid...

It's kinda like when you meet people who are like:
"OMG THE WATCHMEN WAS THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER YOU GOTTA GO SEE IT. NIGHT OWL IS SO DEEP AND AWESOME AND OMG RORSHARCH IS LIKE THE COOLEST GUY EVER"
or "OMG REVOLVER OCELOT IS THE COOLEST BADGUY EVER. HES SO AWESOME AND KICK ASS AND THE LA LE LU LE LO ARE TOTALLY WEIRD!!"
And then you find out neither of those people have ever heard of The Watchmen until the movie came out, or even gave a shit about Metal Gear Solid until they saw some of Egoraptor's work, but they still talk as though they have been playing and loving those series since they started. I had the awkward situation of finding out a friend of mine was just like that.
I never cared about The Watchmen, even after the movie came out. If I didnt care enough to even know a comic about them existed prior, why would I act as if I've read it when it first came out or something?
I thought MGS was cool growing up, but I never really got into it because it was too hard for me, until MGS 2 came out and I was able to play the game and thought it was really cool, wherein i went back and got the original games and played them and had a better appreciation for their story and mythos.
So when I saw Metal Gear Awesome for the first time, the jokes were that much funnier, and I wasnt just laughing because of all the animu faces.
I unno. I dont mean to clutter your page. The comic was just really funny because I run into situations like that all the time, and sometimes in more severe ways (as far as lack of games go).
