Born out of ice. Heehee, that's just what I'm assuming. The overall crystalline feeling of this piece invokes feelings of mysticism and wonder within me. This is caused by the girl rising out of the ice, the purple hues, flow of her hair all around the picture, and general otherworldly feel this piece carries. The hair actually has to be my favorite part. I really adore how organic it looks. It's dang cool how it flows from her head like normal hair and becomes what appears to be gel or tentacles. It matches the cold, organic feel of this picture. The otherworldly atmosphere is enhanced by the blue/pink/purple tones and transparency of certain objects such as the crystals. The crystals are well painted. The transparency really helps them look realistic and gives depth to the picture. Going back to the girl, I think her calm, quiet demeanor reflects a air of confidence. It's hard to explain but sometimes I see people walk with this type of expression and they just emanate confidence. And that would make sense if this girl is just being "born". She's waking up in a new world with a whole new future ahead of her. She knows she can do it if she tries.
