There's not enough milk in those jugs for her to have given birth 3 times with a fourth on the way. Nice belly edit though. Hardly noticable.

Well, they probably think the man they knew died at sea. Tragic, but life goes on. Alternatively, someone found out and told them "he's alive, but became a woman and started a family with the son of a local village chief". And who would believe that?
Yes, her life has been pretty busy, but because she's the witch doctor and the wife of the future chieftain, she's probably the most important woman in the tribe, so she has a lot of people to help out with chores, taking care of the kids and other stuff.

I'm just saying it would be interesting if someone from her life before she washed up here ran into her and she accidentally let it slip who she was.
And I'm just wondering what responsibilities she ended up abandoning to end up with the responsibilities she now has.
I wonder if the tribe will eventually accept a female chief. After all, they accepted an outsider as one of their own.
I know it's not part of the narrative, but I wonder what her daughters are like.
The one real let down I think would be if none of her modern knowledge would hold any use. For instance. Do they have a written language? Do they know some of the basic tricks to disinfecting an injury?

The position of a chieftain is hereditary in those tribes, so if the previous chief had daughters but no sons, one of them will probably become a chieftain. Whether or not that trend lasts, probably depends on the chief.
What are her daughters like? I didn't think about that much yet, other than very young. At least a year passed between her transformation and having her first child, so her eldest daughter is at most 4-5 years old. The other two are toddlers.
The tribes had at least some contact with the outside world, so they learned some things from them... But still, I'd imagine that the new knowledge our heroine brought to them is one of the reasons she became a witch doctor so quickly!

What confuses me is that she didn't try to escape or try to contact the outside world when she first arrived.

No radio, no civilisation around but other tribal villages on other islands that require a boat to reach, and the locals are friendly and welcoming but might stop being such when angered by an escape attempt. Would you run away?
