I don't really have background story of Punzie. I can't think of one that doesn't sound stupid, but if I think of one, I'll write here.Why Punzie is an airbender: I can see her as a air nomad. She is free spirited and has a good sense of humor. Airbenders don't attack directly on his or her opponents and I found that Punzie thinks differently when fighting and she's selfless. Also she spent her life in a tower away from the world and Air nomads do that too in a way. Although she was the hardest of the four to put in. She could be a firebender, waterbender, or airbender.

Nice, I like it. Maybe you could say her parents were important people in Republic City, who had her sent to the Air Nomads for either protection or because of her abilities. Maybe Gothel tries or succeeded in kidnapping her, so she grew up in isolation, but finally escapes with the help of Non-bender Flynn/Eugene. Reunited with her parents, she would also go to the Pro-bending matches and support the Icy Flying Lemurs, as well as probably meeting Hiccup in the stands. Anyway, just an idea, you did a great job with them.
