Yes, she's unusual! Since anything to do with Egypt was popular in the 1920's, I thought I would combine a female sphinx with a flapper girl. If you look closely, her hands and feet are paws. Most Greek sphinxes (not Egyptian)Β were female and liked to ask riddles-if you couldn't guess them the penalty was usually death! In Super Mario Odyssey there is a Sphinx that asks us riddles, and when we get them wrong it laughs and sometimes tells a witty joke. At first I thought that was a bit unusual, but now that I read your brief history lesson, it all makes sense.

I actually thought of using that song! Or Little Egypt by the Coasters is a good one too-I was trying to find one that matched the 20's mood . Maybe that could be an idea for a sphinx from the 1980's! Β
