yeah, and they could also work as moirails! before eridan went looney they used to be such great pals and they actually talked about their problems to each other! probably had sleepovers to watch shitty romcoms and paint their nails and talk about quadrants //wistful sigh

i personally dont see them as blackrom because karkat's "hate" for eridan stems more from the fact that he's a murderer and also from that time in the comic when he was pathetically hitting on everyone, rather than romantic intent and "oh no he's hot". and i guess i just dont see eridan regarding karkat as a rival of any sort.

Hehe, it's true that the blackrom wouldn't be as truthful as a redrom, because it would be based off of a very small portion of their relationship together, but it's still interesting to think about if you have any kinks I suppose? It's also just an interesting quadrant to delve into the psyche of and how it would work (to me at least haha).

But yeah most definitely, these two would get along very well as matesprits, but maybe even better as moirails, like you mentioned. (Are we getting too into this? Hahaha) But yeah, I definitely love to think about the relationship between these two, but even though they're not as loved as other couples, their dynamics would be so complex and enjoyable.

the hate quadrant in itself is a pretty debatable thing, and ive seen many different intepretations of it! some people regard it as pure 'i cant stand your guts' hate, some people see it as a rivalry where you actually care about the well-being of your partner.

to me, i feel like you wouldnt really care about their well-being because you hate them, but you wouldnt bring as much violence as to kill them. since you need their genetic material for the drones, you have to keep them very much alive. i think the mentality is that torture is worse than death, so you just push them as close as you can but never let them die.

so i guess i feel like its a more sadistic kind of hate!! like yknow how with some people you hate, you just want to see them in pain as opposed to wanting them disappearing from your life 8D

Hahaha no problem~ I love discussing ships too. The way you put that basically said my thoughts on the black quadrants too, but it IS very debatable what people would think about it. To be honest I've still never had my own solid interpretation of it haha (sadly). I guess I get too lazy? I dunno haha, I guess I'd have to write down my thoughts about it if I wanted to fully think about it.
