Description
A few weeks after Red's encounter with Tails, Lieutenant Vixen and Roxy were back to full health and were given some time off to relax their muscles for a bit, while Red in the meanwhile was busy training with Knuckles, and desperately trying to defend only to get his but handed to him.

"Not exactly on your game today are ya Rookie?" Knuckles went.

"Knuckles your are asking for it by calling him that," Vixen joked.

"Keep calling me Rookie, and I'll soon put you in your place, Knucklehead," Red laughed.

"WHY YOU!" Knuckles went as he tried to do a punch.

"Wide open," Red smirked delivering a savage strike Punch to Knuckle's face.

The punch sent Knuckles out of the makeshift training ring and left Knuckles with a stunned look on his face while Vixen and Roxy merely laughed at Knuckles for getting angry over being called a knucklehead, which resulted in him getting a ring out in the first place.

"Knuckles, you really need to learn to control your emotions over getting called names," Sally commented from nearby, "That's all they are, names. Nothing to get worked up over."

"Hmph," Knuckles went before walking away.

"What brings you two here?" Red asked the girls.

"I wanted to see how you were doing, and Roxy wanted to thank you for saving her back in the city. She would've been a goner if you hadn't come in as close as you did," Vixen explained.

"Da. My squad had been heavily injured during the attack, we were in retreat before you came in,"

"I've gotta wonder, why did you speak a lot of Russian? We speak English here on Mobius,"

"I was raised on Earth. A vacation went wrong, my family and I were taken prisoner by Ultranationalists Extremist remnants following Earth's World War III, parents killed... me, brother, and sister were all left... Soon rescued by UF forces in G.U.N and S.A.S joint operation to get rid of Ultranationalist remnants. I had to take care of brother Dimitri and sister little Tanya..."

"Wait, had? What do you mean HAD," Vixen asked

".... Dimitri and Tanya... both died in Eggman's invasion of our city... They fought till their last breath as I was forced to watch as they were slaughtered by the purple weasel... he destroyed our culture... our way of making money... our honor..."

"I can see why you joined the Resistance," Vixen commented.

"He took my family and my home... And I will be the one to take his life," Roxy growled

"I see...Good luck with that Roxy...you have my support no matter what,"

"Why are you so interested in me?" Roxy asked.

"Hehehe. I think I'll leave you two alone for now," Vixen smirked as she began to walk away, "In the mean time, I'm heading over to the mess for a decent meal. The less I have to be reminded of those feeding tubes the better."

"Well Roxy it's cause you're cute,"

"Que?!" Roxy went in surprise, blushing.

"Yeah you're cute. Hehe. I'd like to possibly learn more from ya too,"

"Oh... um.... I guess I could tell you more," Roxy went, shuffling a little in embarrassment.

"Hehe. I'd also love to learn some Russian too,"

"Well... I- HUH!? Excuuuse me!" Roxy went pulling out none other than a AK-74 from behind her pushing Red aside and running into the hallway, "GET BACK HERE!!!!"

"What the?!" Red went chasing after her.

Roxy stopped in her tracks to fire and allow Red to catch up to her.

"What's going on?!"

"I saw the purple rat running through here! He's heading towards communications!"

Wait... Communications? SALLY!!! Red rushed off towards communications with Roxy behind him and when they arrived they saw no sign of Sally or Fang.

"What the?! Isn't Sally always here?!" Roxy asked.

"She's suppost to from what Knuckles has told me. Alright, pretend you're Fang, what's in your head?"

"My cover's blown, it's time to go, but I decide NOT to use a ship it's too obvious."

They then look at the vent.

"The lock down. He wants to get around the lock down," Red suggested.

"Of course. Lock down begins around this time to prevent anyone from trying to go off on their own like an idiot,"

"He's gonna try to take out the power to blind us, he could disable the entire security system,"

Roxy then laid down her AK on a map table.

"Yeah, but he knows we'd expect him to do that,"

"Or does he? Yeah, I see what you're getting at,"

"Go to the south exit,"

"But what are you gonna do?"

"I'll stay here, keep the power up as long as I can,"

"Got it,"

As Red 'left' Fang came down from the ceiling to try and take the AK.

"Hey there Fang. Gun's empty," Roxy smirked as Fang tried to fire only to hear clicking.

"We knew you'd never take a chance on the exits while the lock down was in effect," Red smirked as he held the white Wispon to Fang's head and Roxy took her AK back loading in a new mag.

"You knew I was here," Fang growled.

"Of course we knew. You think we wouldn't have a plan?" Red stated.

"I'm not the threat to Mobius here. You are!" Fang went as he took grabbed the Wispon and elbowed Red to the ground.

Roxy then went for a charge, Fang tried to fire at her only for Roxy to knock away both their weapons and get into a fight with the weasel resulting in her getting kneed and Fang trying to run away. Roxy then followed and tackled him to the ground resulting in a fist fight between them again.

"ALL OF YOU GETTING IN THE WAY OF EGGMAN'S DREAM!" Fang shouted, "AND FOR WHAT?!"

Fang then managed to get himself ontop of Roxy and tried to fight back again only to be grabbed and dragged from behind by Red.

"Yeah, I bet you sold out your kind for some REAL shiny coins huh?!" Red went.

Fang then headbutted Red and elbowed him to let go, then pulling Red's leg up and goign down to the ground where he pulled at Red's leg hard enough and a crunch and crack could be heard.

"AAUGHH!!!"

"Yeah he offered me money. But he offered me something more important, something that you wouldn't understand! FREEDOM!" Fang shouted.

Fang then found himself shot to death by Roxy who unloaded her mag into Fang's body that eventually evaporated in a red light.

"A fake....of course," Red went.

Red then tried to get up but found himself in more pain from his broken leg.

"Fake or not, he did a number on your leg," Roxy said as she helped him up.

"Ow..."

"Come on, let's get you to medical comrade,"

"Aye tovarich..."

Soon enough Red was in medical and visited by Sally.

"A fake? What I want to know is, how did a fake even get in..." she then walked over to a window, "...and what even made it."

"The Chaos that roxy and I fought did the same thing..."

"There seems to be a pattern with them. If it dies in a red light, it's a fake. Come to think of it, earlier many resistance soldiers were reporting robots doing the same thing. The thing is, they're so real it's impossible to tell them apart from the real thing,"

"Yeah. Feel like the real thing too," Red said motioning to his leg.

"Grrr!" Sally growled as she punched the wall, "Every time we manage to take one step forward towards victory Eggman constantly throws a wrench in to force us two steps back!"

"What about Omega? Can't he help us?" Roxy asked.

"Omega's still decommissioned from his fight with Metal Sonic weeks ago. Coco and Rotor's been doing all they can but without Tails there's no hope for him coming back. Shadow's not gonna help us because he's off fighting for his own reasons..." Sally replied.

"Of course he is..." Red sighed.

Sally was about to say something when a message on her communicator forced a sigh out of here.

"Red, I'd love to stay and chat some more about this, but unfortunately my mother Queen Alicia needs me in the communications room for a moment," Sally stated.

Sally then left Roxy and Red to their own devices and all Roxy could do was put on a soft smile.

"Thank you for the help, even if it resulted in you getting a broken leg comrade,"

"No problem Tovarich. I don't mind helping a beautiful gal like you at all,"

Roxy's blush only grew bigger. By nightfall everyone was resting up, outside of the night guards and the night owls. In the medical bay, Red was trying to sleep when he felt something wake him up. He knew who it was immediately from the the bust he was facing.

"Rouge?!" he asked softly, his voice lightly muffled by her chest.

"About time you woke up," Rouge went as she moved into a better view, "Nice to see you finally joined the fight where others aren't."

"Hehe yeah, you know it honey,"

Rouge then got off of him and pulled a chair up to Red's side to get into a more comfortable position.

"That fake Fang you and Roxy killed has got Sally and the others starting to think more in their strategies now that they know there are fakes among the ranks of Eggman's army,"

"Hehehe, you really should be thanking Roxy for that. She managed to see what my nose couldn't,"

"Oh? Really now?"

"Yeah, she spotted the fake heading towards Communications. I didn't smell anything."

"Well, well, well. Don't that remind you of how we first met? Me on a Black Ops mission by G.U.N along with five other guys in the jungles of Mobius looking for details on Eggman's newest plan following an anonymous tip on him holding Weapons of Mass Destruction, my whole squad was wiped out, hehehe... but you still saved my life along with your then only wife Lupe,"

"Yeah. You know it,"

"You let me go after that, but... something kept dragging me back to you... I still don't know what it was, but... the more I kept coming back the more you and I began to know each other. Don't think I didn't know you liked me for my looks at first, you and I both know you can't stop looking at these melons,"

"Well, how can I not? They're right in my face and they're also quite a delight to look at and even touch," he said reaching over and groping them a bit.

"But remind me, what was it you said to me when I became your next beloved in your now polyamorous love life? What REALLY got us together?" Rouge went looking into his eyes with a sparkle.

"Hmm, let me think..."

It really could've been anything, her personality, her carefree and playful attitude, or even her bashful side and her stubbornness.

"What can I say? It was everything about you~ Your personality your teasing playfulness, and even your adorable bashfulness,"

"And what drew me to you? You're like if Sonic and Knuckles had a love child~ All the best bits mashed into one and all the flaws of both at the same time,"

"Awww well that's certainly ONE way of putting it,"

"Hehehe~ Thanks for the compliments gorgeous. Bet you're wondering what I'm doing up at this time of the night anyways right?"

"I've been wondering for a while now,"

"Sally wanted me to inform you that once your healed up she's got a mission for you and a selected squad to do a Black Operations behind enemy lines mission,"

"Interesting,"

"She wants you to discover the secret behind the Phantom Ruby, as she has a hunch it might be linked to the fakes you encountered,"

"I see,"

Rouge then suddenly looked around and got closer to Red.

"I'm not suppost to tell you this yet, but... your heading for Angel Island on your mission,"

"Really now? Back home eh?"

"That's the thing.... Eggman... has conquered Angel Island."
