Description Depression: the silent killer.

Depression makes the victim feel as though their life is in slow motion, much like being under water. Everything is a complete struggle, even though you know the tasks at hand shouldn't be so hard to do.

Your world is grey and you constantly feel as though there's a glass wall between you and the rest of the world. You're constantly afraid and worried over things that shouldn't have a grasp on you in the first place and nothing seems worth it.

You constantly are reminded of your failures, the what ifs, and the pain of the losses in your life: including yourself. Depression takes you by the neck and drowns you in your own misery, and forcing you to let go of the person you once were.

Four years ago a co worker, who I'd known for 16 years, killed himself. He was suffering from severe depression. I didn't know, none of us did. If anyone would have told me he would do that, I would have said they were nuts. He had taken off work to get help and rest, but it was too little too late. This pic of yours really hit me. Hard. Depression is the silent killer. It's can also be the elephant in the room. We know something is wrong, but we are all afraid to talk about it, or they don't know how to articulate their problems. And sometimes it's fear. Fear of being stigmatized, fear of being told "You're just over reacting, you just need to calm down."  The worst part is, those who are left behind. They have to deal with the aftermath, wondering if we could have done to help.
Hang in there, love. I really enjoy your work and the world would be a little darker without you in it.
