Six of my favorite demons from the Ars Goetia. Lookit those cuties!

The Goetia is a section from The Lesser Keys of Solomon, one of the best-known occult grimoires in existence. It wasn't actually written by Solomon, of course, but it IS quite old--seventeenth century by most standards of the publication, but portions of it date to the 1600s. It is basically about demons and their summoning and all sorts of hoodoo goodies along those lines! Complete with very descriptive passages about each demon and what it his capable of, which are often...underwhelming. By which I mean hysterically funny.

The demons are as follows:

Allocer, a great demon that takes the form of a fire-eyed knight riding a massive horse. Don’t let it fool you, though—he’s a scholarly sort, and if summoned can give top-notch teachings in astronomy and liberal arts. Because, uh, that’s apparently something demons are good at.

Balan (also ‘Balam’ depending on your translation) is a three-headed horror who rides a bear around because he fuckin can what are you gonna do about it

Caim, who is a bird.

Buer, who is my favorite because of how ridiculous he looks. He’s also a mad good teacher in philosophy and…gardening. Mmm-hm.

Valac is a president of hell and he is super talented at finding snakes. Normal snakes, not demon ones or anything. He’s like some snake dowsing rod.

Belial takes the form of two hot angels (both in the literal and metaphorical sense because they are sexy and also on fire). He can give people really good advice and familiars and all sorts of cool stuff! What a great guy.

Done in about three hours, all in pen.
