Description IR photo of a railroad bridge, Grand Rapids, MI. This one came out astoundingly well with little modification. The bridge itself is just rusted metal-- the blue color is because of the post-process color modification.

Speaking of that, Process notes: Taken on an unmodified Nikon D70s with a 760nm infrared filter. The picture was taken under clear skies in early afternoon. Color balance was set using auto-white balance, reading off sunlit grass. Conversion from raw (NEF) was done using RawShooter Essentials 2005 (because Adobe Camera Raw CS2 does not support the very low color temperature). Color processing consisted of inverting the color channels only: 1.) Convert RGB image to LAB, 2.) Invert the Lightness channel, 3.) Invert the entire image (to restore the Lightness and invert the color). Then, the color balance was slightly modified by sampling the pylon to neutral gray (in Levels), and the image was cropped.
