Description
One of the many captivating events during the first season of Avatar to me was seeing Zhao and Zuko tossing big balls of fire at each other.The excellent allowed me to colour a panel of her fantastic AU - which starts here , goes for 48 mind-boggling pages already and is really, really addictive.
So here you have twenty years older Zhao and Zuko (and still twelve years old Aang) and a really big fireball.
Aang, Zhao and Zuko are from Avatar: The Last Airbender.

I read the comic and realized this was about Zuko preventing Aang's death only for a selfish reason (he wouldn't have to go searching for a reincarnated avatar all over again if Aang doesn't die), yet...
This still hits home with me. It's still a pretty powerful image, but I can't help but think it's of protecting your enemy... something where pride and selfishness are all stripped away, and care for another human being comes into play.

Zuko's character allows for such assumptions because he still has morals. They are sometimes hidden rather deep, but still.

The age difference is 'slightly' bigger in this AU - and there doesn't seem to be much time for any kind of romance.

Awesome awesome looking fireball there- I mean, saying it looks hot is not only a bad pun but just not enough of powerful an image.
My brain keeps going back to the kick @$$ part.

If I gather enough courage I would love to colour Zuko and Aang against Zhao's troops eventually, but before I need to watch Siege Of The North again...
