It's been a while since I submitted something colored, and it's also been a while since I drew my girlies.Opal was a character I created long before I wrote Beyond Centuries. And for every character I create, I need someone to put them down (because no matter how much you love them, they need people to give them a little reality check). With Dugal I have... er had Harrier... and the Gautier Twins (who I've only mentioned briefly so far, but I came up with them to give him trouble).
With Opal, I have Citrine (ahyup, not very creative with names I know with following the gemstone line... my first brainchildren had very unoriginal names imo). Opal's the "not absolutely terrible" black dragon, so Citrine is the "absolutely terrible" white one. Actually they both have unpleasant personalities, but compared to each other Citrine is worse.
If it had been Citrine instead of Opal who appeared in BC, the story would have stopped after the third chapter because she would have caused more chaos.
She's greedy, she's vain, she's self-centered, and enjoys pretending to be the good one so that she could screw with people's heads. She's also prettier than Opal with feathered wings opposed to leathery ones, and she rubs the fact in her rival's face.
The two are identical are in every way, actually (besides looks maybe). That's why they clash so much - the world's only big enough for one of them. Their conflicts create misfortunes for people unlucky enough to be near them.

Love it! I love the little differences in their outfits and styles that make them unique. You are so good at making your poses flow and the whole picture is composed really well. Great job once again ^^

Citrine is my first character with a darker skin tone, and maybe that's one reason why she's really climbed up to be one of my favorites.
Or maybe it's just the simple fact that I like characters with horrible personalities...

Hurr, don't worry. If it makes you feel better, my characters Kanti, Raye, and Raziel used to have Japanese names because only COOL characters had Japanese names. D: Thankfully, I grew out of that and named them appropriately. The only one who sort of kept her original name was Kuroesh, who I often just call Kuroe (lol, "kuro" )
Anyways, badass. As astral said, I'm loving the yin-yang effect here. And as far as which one's cooler. Opal, yeah totally. I'm a sucker for black dragons. XD

Man, I want to rename some of my oldest characters so badly, but now that they've been with me like that for so long, it feels weird to even think of changing them. How didja do it?!?!

Well, you're pretty much good as you are now because you can name your characters after precious stones and it's not a terrible thing. Me? I was giving Japanese names to non-Japanese characters. And that makes no sense whatsoever because none of the characters were born in Japan or have a hint of Japanese blood in them. So it was just something that had to be done.
And thank you. Kuroe's my mafia heiress that also happens to be Evan's girlfriend (and later, wife). XD She's a favorite, but I don't draw her that often. D:

I would NOT want to get between these two in an argument.
I love the design. I especially like how Citrine has darker skin which gives a yin-yang effect between the two (Opal being a darker-colored character with lighter skin while Citrine is a lighter-colored character with darker skin. Especially since their outfits are also similar so they resemble a similar "shape"
Overall I like the designs, I'm jealous because almost all my "extremely old" characters are ones that were bland and I wish never to see again.

No... you probably wouldn't considering getting between them would entail being burnt to cinders (as if catfights aren't nasty enough without fire and claws)
Ohhh man, I know how you feel about old characters. I revamped these two so many times to make them less Sue-ish, because if I'd kept them the way they were originally they would have been vomit inducing Sues. D:
