Updating some older pieces to be used for prints. Quick hour over painting on this, my Haku piece from a few years ago. I totally love having all the reds and pinks rather than the flat brownish yellow colours from before. Reworked a bit of the shading, highlights, and overall stronger lighting.
I could work on this and completely re-work it entirely, but don't want to get too bogged down by older work. Really hard to put this one down though, haha!

The bolder colours give more impact; like more is happening in the picture, or it is "louder", though I think I like the original just as much in a different way. One could imagine that this red one and the other are stages in a magical process- in fact I would love to see that animated.

Movies like Nightmare on Elm Street and Mission Impossible get sequels to further the story (supposedly), but Spirited Away and Monsters Inc and others don't? Idk about you but that's frustrating. Just saying cause that's what im always reminded of when I see SA fanart

I know. It is a shame. But Studio Ghibli haven't sold out like a lot of Hollywood films. I think the magic of Studio Ghibli is that each film literally just transports you into another world, and give you just a taste.
I wouldn't say no to a sequel though!

Haku and Spirited Away has always had a special place in my heart and I love your version of him. The reflected light off his backside and the shading really makes it quite dramatic.
