The attention to light on the rocks, the side and front steps, the grass by the stones, and the hovering birds gathered supply that evocative bit of detail that make me feel I can walk around inside the piece and hear the wind stir the dust and grass. I enjoyed discovering the side stairs andΒ arches so much, I wonder if there is a missed opportunity in not hiding some discoveries elsewhere too, like a journeyer passing by the base of the hill on the lower left. Anyway, I love the subtle contrasts you've worked into the shadow of the ruins where the light hits in glints and speckles.
