OVERALL: This image does well to convey a concept (a galaxy within a person) and remain accessible (pleasant to look at).
VISION: 5.0. This shows a great concept that is hard to convey and does it well.
ORIGINALITY: 4.5. This conveys a subtle concept and is a great implementation of it.
TECHNIQUE: 4.5. The high amount of contrast here is acceptable but the harsh lighting on the forehead (and face) is distracting.
IMPACT: 3.5. The sienna and cyan colors are dramatic but this image does not intend to have impact and has thoughtful concept expressed through it instead.
NOTES: The idea (concept) of: the galaxy (as in a galaxy of possibilities) lies within the person (model), as it (or they) does within each of us is an interesting one. That there is hiding gong on here (the galaxy is hidden except where the hiding skin has been torn away and wisps of hair cover the face (especially the other eye (her right one))) is also interesting. Within the familiar is the exotic. A wonderful and beautiful notion. (There is also the concept that the galaxy (and Universe) is within each of us because we are the intelligence that is aware of it.)

This is quite simply STUNNING!
I can look at this artwork and read it several ways, but the way I choose to read it is this:
This beautiful yet tragic girl has been through a world of hurt, something terrible happened and the scars show on her face. But she's not hiding, she's done nothing wrong and therefore she chooses to use her own brilliantly innovative artwork to decorate her scars.
What the artist has done is very clever, he paints a picture within a picture and shows us that beauty is everywhere if we are only brave enough to accept it and let it out.
Great use of colour in a fairly minimalist setting, that glorious patch of blue, sharply defined by the black draws your eye only to the colour shock at first, you have to then look deeper to see what else is there.
The gently wind blown hair is also very clever, the artist uses it as an extra frame, because there is nothing to hide here.
