FlexibleAnatomy — Just Relaxing

Description I was trying out some 3D modelling software after working on the idea from the previous journal, when I discovered that DAZ Studio 4 Pro was for free (possibly for a limited time). So I loaded it up and had a little play around, and this was the result.

Using the default clothing and models, I added a couple of prims and moved it around so that a random woman was relaxing on her legs. I initially wanted the prims that divided her to be coloured and a bit different, but I didn't manage to find it after 10 minutes of searching, so I just left it as is.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this pretty quick render.

The idea for the pose was directly inspired by ~gameboysage 's series of artworks involving this: [link]
The model and the details came with DAZ Studio.

EDIT: And one last, quick thing. I also had an issue with making a flat, open division for human bodies. If anyone has had experience with DAZ Studio and knows a good solution (I've tried making the halves divisible like I have in this, but the problem was getting the flat edge), feel free to tell me how. The idea in my journal sort of needs that to work.

This pose is probably the most comfortable one can get on one's own -- she looks so serene! Do you think you can redo this one with your new division effect?

Actually, it was easier than I thought: [link]

I could try, but a big problem I'd have would be the fact that her "Tankini" (as DAZ Studio calls it), as well as other dynamic articles of clothing that cover the region, would be pulled into her waist.

No promises, but I'll see what I can do.

There's a few methods. The one I know, as a photomanipulator, would involve cleaning things up with GIMP. It wouldn't look all that consistent from one shot to another. If we can get you and Evil Frank talking tho... that guy, whatever combination of programs he uses, he gets some amazing results.

Yeah, from my experience with DAZ Studio so far the only solutions I can find are either creatively hiding the uneven edges in other objects and blind spots, or just editing with GIMP to clean the divisions up.

However, with that aside, I've also noticed that it's quite time consuming to actually hide the parts for the divisions. This image, and the other one with her, use two full bodies to work, which means that I have to go in and individually select and clear every singly part of the limbs, fingers and facial features that need to be invisible. Of course, at the moment it's not too big of an issue... until I start working with four or more bodies.

And I have looked at some of Evil Frank's works, and I have to say that they look really good, especially parts 2 and 3 of the "Modern Art" series with the reversed legs. If he and I do end up talking, I'm sure I'll learn quite a bit from him.

Wow, that's awesome :-D when I had a computer, I was looking for a good program, but couldn't find one and now... Anyways the special pillow idea is always fantastic!

Thanks.

And yeah, the program is most likely only free for a limited time, so I'm sorry about the unfortunate timing.

Thanks.

It took a little bit to get used to the GUI, but I think it was worth it to come up with at least this.

I see, looks great, can't wait to what else you come up with this?

I probably won't come up with too much in the near future, probably just expanding on this idea of her being split by prims, but I hope that through this I can develop skills to create more detailed images and original models.

Yep, that girl Nat?

Nah, it's just an anonymous person.

Nat doesn't need prims to detach, considering she is already detachable.

Okay, true, I didn't know what a prim was.

Ah, well a "Primitive" (or "Prim") is pretty much a simple 3D shape used to make a more complex object, just to be more clear.
