Description Taken in my first attempt at shooting lightning. The knowlege I gained from this outing was worth more than even my best shot of the group. And just so you know... this isn't the best one. I will post that in the following days. Wanna see? +watch and you will

hrm.. how, exactly, DO you photograph lightening? Any tips/advice or points to watch out for?

Well... it was my first try at lightning so i am not a good person to ask However, I will say that a tripod is very very helpful. I experimented with several settings and think that's probably the best way to learn. Find a nice place to stand out of the wind and rain and set up shop. Try some nice long exposures

I love the mix of the green and blue parts of the sky. Nice capture of the lightning too. I envy your lightning storm.

Yeah... I did realize that too. Problem was that i had iso set to 200 and that worked better, but i had to edit it in photoshop a bit to make it even submittable here... Thanks a million for the advice though, I need lots of it as I am just learning this kinda shooting. I hope to do much better next time. Oh, and sorry for the blurriness... that's my lack of a tripod for the 15 second exposure hehe... Thanks man!
