Ahh, but are we? I find that very real and interesting regular folk like this wonderful looking fellow are the types I prefer to people my own little humble tales with. He must have been very happy with this, or the person who commisioned it!

This one demands a second look- a picture is so easy but a painting means someone had to care and that is really evident here. Nicely done.

It has such a natural look about it... especially how the cap seems to be turned at one side and lying flat on the other... and the furrowed brows, the lines on his face... the old wry looking hands... and the loose jumper... it seems quite real and life like, almost.

i just love the way most of your pieces have a hyperreal feeling. you've really harnessed the transparency of watercolours and added depth, solidity, and glorious detail with the acrylic.

Wow, the skin & folds in the fabric really show your mastery...the subtle shading & levels really make this look like an altered photo. This is when I love realism in watercolors. Of course, I still think he should have fairy wings.
